Amos Gitai (Amos Weinraub, born 1950 in Haifa/Israel) is a politically engaged filmmaker who explores the identity and paradoxes of Israel. Themes that are important to him: boundaries, architecture, wastelands, language and history. He studied architecture at Technikon in Haifa and at University of Southern California in Berkeley. His father was the Bauhaus architect Munio Weinraub.
