Djanira da Motta e Silva, known as Djanira (born 1914, Avare, Sao Paulo, Brazil, d., 1979, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) was a painter, illustrator, woodcarver and set designer. She was self-taught and came from indigenous and working-class background. In the 1940s she emerged on the Brazilian art scene. In her work she deals with topics such as Brazilian common people, landscapes, folklore and religious themes.
