Erwin Blumenfeld (b. 1897, Berlin, d. 1969, Rome) was one of the most innovative photographers of the 20th century. His work included portrait, nude and fashion photography as well as drawings, collages and photomontages. He experimented with new techniques and had close contact with Surrealists, Dadaists and Cubists like George Grosz, Paul Citroen and Else Lasker-Schüler.
