Il Giampietrino, who lived and worked in Milan from 1500 to 1549, was a painter of the Lombard school. He studied and worked as Gian Petro in the studio of Leonardo da Vinci (1452 - 1519).
There was some confusion about his name in the past - today it is no longer assumed that he is identical to Giovanni Pedrini, Gian Pietro Rizzi or Giovanni Pietro Rizzoli.
