Ian Wilson (b. 1940, Durban, ZA) is a conceptual artist, living and working in New York. Since 1968, he was interested to bring his ideas about visual abstraction into the invisible abstraction of language, along with some other artists such as Lawrence Wiener, Joseph Kosuth, Robert Barry, and Art & Language. He described his own work as 'discussion'.
In 1982 he participated at documenta 7 in Kassel.
