Jindřich Štyrský (b. 1899, Czermna/Czech Republic; d. 1942, Prague/Czech Republic) was a surealist painter, graphic artist, poet and art theorist. In 1934 he was a co-founder of the Surrealist group in Czechoslovakia and wrote a biography on Arthur Rimbaud and Marquis de Sade. Styrsky studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
