Roman Signer (born in 1938 in Appenzell/Switzerland), based in Saint-Gallen, is famous for his interventions and actions that explores transformation of materials. 1987 he participated at the documenta 8 in Kassel and in 1999 he represented Switzerland at the Venice Biennale. He studied at Schule für Gestaltung, Zurich; Schule für Gestaltung, Lucerne; and Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw.
