Tizian (Tiziano Vecellio, Titian, born 1488 in Pieve di Cadore / Venice, died in Venice 1576) worked in Venice, Padua, Rome and Augsburg. He was a student of Giovanni Bellini in Venice and later an employee of Giorgione. In 1533 he became court painter of Emperor Charles V. Famous works are "The three generations" 1513 ; "Assunta" 1518; "Bacchanalia" 1523; "Danae" 1553; "Madonna of the house Pesaro" 1926, amongst others.
