Abraham Cruzvillegas: Hi, how are you, Gonzo?
30.03.2019 - 14.07.2019

Upcoming at the Jones Center on Congress Avenue

Abraham Cruzvillegas’s vibrant artistic practice begins with the concept of autoconstrucción—loosely defined as “self-construction,” an idea rooted in transformation, exchange, and play. During the exhibition, a series of site-specific, assemblage sculptures will be enlivened through music, performances, workshops, cooking, storytelling, art making, skateboarding, and more, in “activations” led by the artist’s collaborators from Mexico City and invited community partners from Austin.

Share these diverse exhibition activations with us every Tuesday and Saturday during the run of the exhibition. Events are free for all on Tuesdays; free with museum admission on Saturdays. Members always receive free admission.

This exhibition is co-organized by Heather Pesanti, Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs, The Contemporary Austin, and Heidi Zuckerman, Nancy and Bob Magoon CEO and Director, Aspen Art Museum.
