press release

From 4 June through 16 July Galerie Fons Welters presents new works by gallery artists.

The sculpture of Jennifer Tee was part of the installation she made for the Biënnale of São Paulo last year. Shown in the Netherlands for the first time, the work combines playful references to Duchamp with ideas about the tropical and cultural identity.

Rob Birza will be represented with four new eggtemper paintings, which comment on the daily representation of war imagery. Job Koelewijn will present a new work that ironically relates to the theme of 'the jump' present in his earlier body of work.

Furthermore threedimensional works will be shown by Merijn Bolink and Maria Roosen. Gabriel Lester, who is doing the ISCP-residency program in New York at the moment, will present a new film.
