press release

The exhibition of Grzegorz Klaman's works instigates the discussion on the ways in which the images of the body function in the contemporary visual culture. His series "Sari", realised during his stay in India was shown parallel with the "Anatrophs". The artist used the traditional garment of Hindu women to turn our attention to the practice common to both the East and the West, namely that of inscribing cultural relations and social interdependencies into the body. In his project "Beckett/ Implants" situated somewhere between the visual arts and the theatre, the artist tackled the issue of the possibilities the media offer for the creation of the imagery of the body.
