With EULENGASSE you can take part in a very special tribute to Joseph Beuys on May 12th, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to midnight:
More than 30 artists will tell us what Beuys has to do with them and their work, videos are shown and their works are discussed with the audience. Exhibition organizers and contemporary witnesses report in interviews about their encounters with the person of Beuys and his work.
The journalist Petra Kammann (FeuilletonFrankfurt) and Harald Etzemüller (EULENGASSE) will moderate a zoom meeting live from the exhibition room, in which you can participate and discuss. The event will also be streamed live on the EULENGASSE YouTube channel.

At the 100th anniversary of the birthday of the artist Joseph Beuys on May 12th this year, a number of culturally obsessed people, artists, museums, institutions, and more, will remember the man in the felt hat and the fishing vest. Only a few contemporaries succeeded in taking such a permanent place in the history of art of the 20th century. At the same time, it is a unique achievement of Joseph Beuys to serve as a powerful benchmark for contemporary art with the expansion of the concept of art (keyword „social sculpture“) based on him and his work until today - and certainly well into the 21st century.
The publisher Lothar Schirmer, the art critic and features editor of the FAZ Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung Eduard Beaucamp, the photographer and contemporary witness Inge Sauer, the artists Nancy Mansilla Alvarado, Jon Pahlow, Gözde Ju, Petra Schott, Helmut Werres, Christiaan Tonnis and many others have their say ...
On the occasion of „Beuys 100.“, a cooperation with the municipal cinema Filmforum Höchst will start: on Sunday 16 May at 12:00 noon there will be an online discussion including the documentary „BEUYS“ by Andreas Veiel. You can already see the film on the online platform of the Filmforum Höchst: filmforum-hoechst.cinemalovers.de (subscription, from 3, - € / month)
