In November 2008, the Galerie de l’UQAM presented Metamorphosis, the first group exhibition in Turkey of contemporary Canadian artists, at Akbank Sanat in Istanbul. This event, curated by Louise Déry, brought together works by visual artists, sound art and two video programmes prepared by Peggy Gale and Louise Déry. The book includes numerous reproductions, correspondence between Michael Snow and Louise Déry, the author of the volume’s main essay, texts by the Turkish curator Ali Akay and by Peggy Gale, and an innovative project for a “Dervish library,” a selection by Louise Déry of 360 essential Canadian works.
