press release

Dvir Gallery is delighted to announce the opening of a solo show by Mircea Cantor, the first show by the artist in Israel with a special work made in-situ.

Born in Romania [1977] and based in Paris, Mircea Cantor is considered to be one of the most promising and interesting artists to work in the international art world today. His film Double Heads Matches was exhibited at the 50th Venice Biennial [2003], The Renaissance Society, Chicago and Tate Modern, London [2004], and The Landscape is Changing was projected in DeAppel, Amsterdam, NGBK, Berlin and Magasin3, Stockholm [2004].

Mircea Cantor is the co-founder, together with Gabriela Vanga and Ciprian Muresan, of VERSION magazine [http://www.versionmagazine.com/index.html]. The recently published last issue of Version has the unusual form of a children coloring book.

In September 2005 Cantor had a solo show at the New York gallery of Yvon Lambert and in the coming January he will have his work installed at the Parisian center for contemporary art, Palais de Tokyo.
