New York-based sculptor Petah Coyne transforms everyday matter into works of resolute poetry. Combining both figurative and abstract traditions and deploying a diverse assortment of materials, her works constitute a complex language that is decidedly individual yet surprisingly accessible. Featuring photographs and sculptures (including several examples of Coyne's signature wax chandeliers), this retrospective chronicles the artist's evolution from the late 1980s to the present. The exhibition was organized by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York. Petah Coyne is a visiting artist at the Kemper Museum.
