press release

Fresh, innovative and original, Swiss design is considered today's example of cutting edge modernity. This marked achievement, from a group of visionary designers and manufacturers in Switzerland, has made and still makes them renowned worldwide. Conceived by Pierre Keller, Director of University of Art and Design Lausanne, the exhibition Swiss Design Now features a comprehensive collection of works by the new generation of Swiss designers who considers tradition an inspiring source to their modern work. It also establishes an important link between multiplicity and the vibrant richness of their legacy. Furthermore, the selected objects demonstrate the diversity of techniques and stylistic possibilities that can be fully integrated into the everyday life thanks to their practical, playful or even esthetical qualities. Produced by national industries Felco, Team By Wellis, Wogg or by international companies Serralunga, Ligne Roset, B&B Italia, the collection clearly depicts the importance and presence of Swiss designers in the economic and creative global network.

Apart from innovative projects by young talented Swiss designers, the exhibition will also feature a unique selection of furniture, knife, watch and other product designs by globally renowned Swiss brands, including Vitra, Birkenstock, Swatch, Nespresso and Victorinox.

Together, Swiss Design Now highlights the progressive flair of Swiss design, illustrated through objects and images of everyday life of the 20th century.
