press release

Tavidan is the georgian expression for „from the mind“. It describes the starting point of an idea, a project or a process. In form of a dialogue between a vibrant art scene from georgia and artists from germany, Tavidan examines the origins of contemporary art and questions the significance of cultural, educational and spacial influence on art.

The artists are working in almost every contemporary artistic field, such as painting, new media, installation art, film, photography, space-oriented sculpture and many interdisciplinary fields, such as new music, fashion, bio farming or education. Their work oscillates often between art and society, between the white cube and the field, the catwalk and social engagement. This exhibiton tries to offer the chance to investigate on the borderless and open idea of contemporary art, to point out the meaning of each work and its physical and metaphysical reach.
