THE RETURN VISIT

OPENING WITH THE ARTISTS: Marcin Kowalik, Anja Garg, Klaus Richter, Hedwig Rogge dynamic graphics and live multimedia compositions, happening, DJ Emil B performing. Saturday, 31st January 2009, 7 p.m. Program Gallery, Warsaw, Gen. Andersa 20 Str.

“I took part in the art residence program in Atelier Hoeherweg 271 in Düsseldorf in August and September 2008. It is a building in which there are studios of eleven artists. There is also a studio and a flat for a guest artist, one of whom was me. At the end of my stay I made an exhibition in my studio www.kowalik.art.pl/d/index.html The exhibition in the Program gallery is a fantastic opportunity to present the works of the wonderful people I met in Atelier 271. I will be able to enter the world of their works and get into the artistic dialog with them. In my PhD thesis I focus at the mechanism of artistic dialog, interpretation and perception of works (which can again stimulate artistic activity). Our dialog, which originated in Düsseldorf when we had the opportunity to get to know one another’s’ works), can now be continued and expanded. During the exhibition in Program, we will arrange a composition of our works and create live multimedia installation based on the elements of the works. This artistic dialog is a precious phenomenon as it enhances mutual understanding of the perception of art and at the same time pulls the audience into this dynamic process. This greatly contributes to the artistic development of creators. For both artists and visitors it is a mind-widening experience”. /Marcin Kowalik/

The exhibition includes paintings, multimedia installations, art objects, computer graphics and drawings.

The “Return Visit” project is the fourth event organized by the Beznadziejna Gallery; the purpose of the project is spreading the idea of active creative perception of art. During the opening there will be an opportunity to buy a hand made A3 format catalogue, taste home-made dishes and listen to live music.
