Wael Shawky - Cabaret Crusades

Im Rahmen der Ausstellungsreihe Videozone zeigt das Ludwig Forum die 2010 entstandene Arbeit „Cabaret Crusades: The Horror Show File“ von Wael Shawky. Dabei handelt es sich um den ersten Teil einer Trilogie, die sich den vom 11. bis zum 13. Jahrhundert von westlichen Christen unternommenen Kreuzzügen widmet, die bis heute die politische Gegenwart, das Verhältnis zwischen Arabischer Welt und dem Westen, prägen.

As part of the exhibition series Videozone, the Ludwig Forum is showing the 2010 work Cabaret Crusades: The Horror Show File from Wael Shawky. This is the first part of a trilogy devoted to the Crusades undertaken by European Christians from the 11th to the 13th century, expeditions which continue to have an impact on the political present, shaping the relationship between the Arab world and the West.
