André Kertész (born in Budapest, 1894, died in New York, 1985) was a pioneer of complete new photographic compositions and photo essays and influenced a lot of photographers. 1915 he made photo documentations of World War I. From 1937 to 1949 he worked for Haper´s Bazaar und Vogue. 1963 he participated at the Venice Biennale and 1977 at the documenta 6 in Kassel.
