Carl Michael von Hausswolff (b. 1956, Linköping/Sweden), based in Stockholm, is a visual artist, and curator. Since the end of the 1970s, Hausswolff has worked as a composer using the audio recorder as his main instrument and as a conceptual visual artist working with performance art, light- and sound installations and photography.
Together with Leif Elggren he is the founder of the Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland (KREV). Hausswolff is one of the Kings of Elgaland-Vargaland, as King Michael l.
In 1997 he participated at the documenta in Kassel, and in 2001 he represented Sweden in the Nordic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale together with Leif Elggren (and Tommi Grönlund and Petteri Nisunen from Finland and Anders Tomren from Norway).
