Charles and Ray Eames (Charles Ormand Eames, born in 1907 in Saint Louis / Missouri, died in 1978 in Saint Louis; Ray Eames (Ray Kaiser Eames), born in 1912 in Sacramento, California, died in 1988 in Los Angeles) worked together since 1941. They are among the most important American designers of the 20th century. Their house "Pacific Palisades" in St. Monica is built with steel skeleton and prefabricated components (1949). Famous furniture designs: "Stacking chair" made of molded plywood and the "Lounge chair".
