The Canadian collective General Idea was founded by AA Bronson (1946), Felix Partz (1945-1994), and Jorge Zontal (1944-1994). From 1969 to 1994 the three artists produced over 100 solo exhibitions and their magazine FILE (1972-1989) they published contributions of early involvement in punk, queer theory and AIDS activism. Felix Partz and Jorge Zontal died on AIDS in 1994 and after 1994 AA Bronson continued the work.
