Jules Pascin (Julius Mordechai Pincas, b. 1885, Vidin/Bulgaria; d. 1930, Paris) was a draftsman and painter of the "École de Paris". His subject matter was female nudes and sophisticated society. From 1920 he was a member of the "Circle Montmarte" - together with Chagall, Soutine, etc. He also drew for the magazine Simplicissimus. In 1930, on the opening day of his exhibition at the Galerie Georg Petit, Paris he committed suicide. In 1964 his work was shown at documenta 3 in Kassel.
