Raffael (Raffaello Santi, Raffael da Urbino, Raphael, born 1483 in Urbino / Italy, died 1520 in Rome / Italy) is one of the most famous artists of the world. He was a painter of the high Renaissance and the chief architect of the St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
