Sasha Schwartz was born in 1941 in Russia and lived in Odessa and Kishinev. In 1973 he immigrated to Israel and he has been living in Munich since the eighties. Ever since the sixties, his works have enjoyed international recognition and have already been exhibited in the USSR, Israel, America, Germany, Japan, Italy, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates. His comprehensive works include numerous graphic and scenic pieces, and since the eighties have primarily included large-sized works and pieces of installation art. The basic concept of conceptual art along with the impact of Arte Povera are clearly found again in his latest works. In addition, the process of the creation itself is generally visible.
