Tony Chakar (b. 1968, Beirut / Lebanon), based in Beirut, is an architect and writer. He teaches history of art and architecture at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts, University of Balamand, Beirut. Since 1999 he has developed projects that address the complex social and political histories of his hometown and region. His work has been included in numerous exhibitions internationally, including the Sao Paulo Biennial 2014 and the Sharjah Biennial 2013.
