Yinka Shonibare (Yinka Shonibare, since 2005 Yinka Shonibare MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire), b. 1962, London) lives and works in London. In 2002 his works were shown at documenta 11 in Kassel. He participated at the 49th Venice Biennale, 2001 and at the 52nd Venice Biennale 2007 and was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2004. Yinka Shonibare studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art (Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design), and at the Goldsmiths College in London and is one of the Young British Artists.
