Rainer Beuse and Paul Schönewald launched their gallery in 1992. From Krefeld and later from Xanten they developed a very personal program specialized in selected positions of German and American post-war and Contemporary art. Paul Schönewald also continues to discover new talents which create new surprises in the exhibition space. In 2006 Galerie Schönewald und Beuse moved into a former hydraulic factory in Düsseldorf. Since then exhibitions with artists of a younger generation – such as Karin Kneffel, Wilhelm Mundt and Andreas Schmitten - exemplify a broad scope. For many years Paul Schönewald has supervised and developed major collections domestically and abroad. With the gallery he regularly takes part in Art Cologne, Cologne.
