A Seer Out Of Season

On Stellar Rays’ inaugural exhibition, A Seer Out of Season, opens September 14, presenting works by Danny Jauregui, Dave McDermott, Elizabeth Neel, Alessandro Pessoli, Tia Pulitzer and Georgia Sagri. These artists appropriate imagery and symbols that carry mythic or ritualistic associations. The result of an increasingly ahistorical present, they draw freely from a vast cultural landscape, popular and esoteric, foreign, divergent, contradictory and fictive. The artists remix archetypes for which the original intent has been flattened or forgotten, restoring intent through their processes, often to a mystical effect. Intuition rather than rationalization is at the core of their practices- psychics abound! A Seer Out of Season is curated by Tairone Bastien and Candice Madey.
