Sculptor Patrick Dougherty is widely known for weaving together saplings and twigs in site-specific, architecturally-scaled works of art. Dougherty will be in residence at the College in September, and with the assistance of local volunteers he will be constructing an installation at the Center for the Arts. The environmentally friendly, temporary structure will be made from local materials. On view in the Overbrook Gallery to coincide with the public project, which has been underwritten by the College’s “One Per Cent for Art” fund and the Committee on Art in Public Places, is a survey of Dougherty’s previous sculptural projects.
