Hilma af Klint, born 1862 in Solna/Sweden, died 1944 in Djursholm/Sweden, studied at the Technical School and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm She was a pioneer of abstract art, who created 1906 first purely abstract works. But her paintings were not seen publicly until 1986, when the Los Angeles County Museum of Art showed an exhibition with works of her. Her works have been exhibited at the Drawing Center, New York 2005; Camden Arts Centre, London 2006; Moderna Museet, Stockholm 2008; Centre Pompidou, Paris 2008; Haus der Kunst, Munich 2009; Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin 2013; Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebæk 2014; Henie-Onstad Art Centre, Oslo 2015; and at the 55th Venice Biennial 2013.
