Before summer, with people travelling all over the world, art affairs has put together a show by four totally different artists, who yet have one thing in common: the visualisation of a concept based on nature and/or mankind as part of that nature.

Lilian Cooper is fascinated by coastlines and especially those where rough rock formations build the skyline, such as in scotland, or nova scotia in canada. she travels to those areas and for hours she sits and draws on small paper rolls the shapes of the rocks, as well as their details, such as cracks and lines characteristic for the type of stone. the result is an endless pattern of thin lines inspiring ones imagination and conveying the vastness of the subject. we are showing these subtle pencil drawings on roll, as well as separate details, painted lines in oil on small panels.

Shuzo Azuchi Gulliver, the japanese artist known for selling the rights to single parts of his body, in this exhibition is showing a large set of drawings, as well as an exceptionally sized print, based on the human body and more specifically on the human dna (atcg), which gaines a deeper meaning in a time where there is a focus on the research of genes and gene manipulation.

Katrin Korfmann, with her interest for daily life, has added to her series of single coloured 'lightboxes' two new colours: a black one, berlin 360°, 2004 and a yellow one made in amsterdam: the lift, 2004. moreover, we are showing new large prints and a video of pink wall, 2002 made in turin. you may order our recent catalogue about korfmann's work at art affairs.

Herman de Vries, in his modest way, is conquering more and more hearts. we are showing his 'written' names of plants - in subtle shades of coloured pencil - as well as his parts from plant growing, his rubbings from earth and from ashes, in which he is showing us his reflection on nature: nature itself. moreover, several publications have recently been issued, which are also available through art affairs.
