AKAA. Also Known As Africa, Paris 2018
Art & design fair
Paris, November 8-11, 2018

TRIBUNE
We take great pride in the artists and artwork presented by our 2017 exhibitors in the 2nd edition of AKAA. The quality of their selection was duly noticed by the press as well as both long-time knowledgeable collectors and first-time buyers. With a steady attendance comparable to last year’s edition, AKAA has managed to open the horizon for a new audience of art lovers. Many of them discovered the African contemporary art scene during AKAA 2016 and decided to make their first purchase at AKAA 2017.

We warmly thank all our exhibitors, those who renewed their trust in us this year, and those who chose to give AKAA a chance for the first time; those who believe in the potential of a fair based in Paris, in the beautiful setting of the Carreau du Temple; and those who made this event possible: the 60 artists present throughout the fair, the 38 galleries, the actors who gave life to AKAA Underground, all our precious partners – with special thanks to our Premium sponsors: Orange, Eiffage, Hublot, Immobilier Network, Renault, Axa Art, and Kwerk, whose support is unwavering; the many registered journalists present at the fair, the visitors, the speakers of Les Rencontres AKAA, and all those who worked with us to make this edition a warm and shining place for art and artists. Also, we would like to thank the kissbankers of the AKAA Underground crowdfunding campaign, without whom this project would not have been possible.

AKAA is looking forward to seeing you next year November 8 -11, 2018 for its 3rd edition. Together we will continue to make it a major artistic rendez-vous in Paris and offer the best of emerging and established artists from Africa.
