A.L. Steiner zeigt bei Deborah Schamoni die Ausstellung We Made This Disaster Together, die vor dem Hintergrund der Erkenntnis entstanden ist dass wir, als selbstbestimmte Wesen namens Homo Sapiens, Massenvernichtungssysteme in unvorstellbarem Ausmaß entwickelt haben und diese weiterhin aufrechterhalten. Aus dem freudigen Anlass, mit We Made This Disaster Together ein besonderes Gesamtkunstwerk in München zeigen zu können, lädt die Galerie alle Bewohner dieser schillernden Stadt dazu ein, an A.L. Steiners Präsentation teilzuhaben. In dem Wissen um die Tatsache, dass nur einige von Ihnen erscheinen werden, lädt dieser prekäre Kulturproduzent die legitimen und die illegitimen, die produktiven und die unproduktiven, die alten und die jungen Mitglieder der Gesellschaft ein, in der Hoffnung, bei ihnen Erkenntnis und Emotion zu generieren. Da die Ausstellung ein Glücksspiel und der „Erfolg“ des Künstlers nicht gesichert ist, gibt es eine einfache Bedingung, um diese AUF- und ERREGENDE Präsentation erleben zu können: der Einlass erfordert ein Geschenk. Die Wahl dessen liegt allein im Ermessen des Besuchers. Bringen Sie daher etwas mit, auf das sie leicht verzichten können – irgendetwas. Bringen Sie ihren Schmuck, ihr Bargeld, ihren Müll, ihr Liebstes, einen leckeren frischen Kuchen und/oder andere Speisen etc. und wir freuen uns, Ihnen die Kunstwerke zu zeigen, unter denen sich auch eine ganze Reihe, noch nie gezeigter Originalaufnahmen befinden! Überwältigende Skulpturen von höchster Qualität! Bahnbrechendes, dezidiert künstlerisches, soziosexuelles Material! Vielen Dank für Ihre Aufmerksamkeit, wir freuen uns sehr, Sie in der Galerie Deborah Schamoni begrüßen zu dürfen und mit Ihnen Kreativität zu teilen. A.L. Steiner produziert visuelle Konstruktionen aus Fotografie, Video, Installation, Collage, Kollaboration, Performance, Text, Lehre, und kuratorischer Praxis die die Sprache ihrer skeptischen, queeren, ökofeministischen und androgynen Persönlichkeit sprechen. Steiner ist ein kollektives Mitglied der Chicks On Speed, Co-Kuratorin eines Projektes namens Ridykeulous, Mitbegründerin und Teil von Working Artists and the Greater Economy (W.A.G.E.) und arbeitet mit zahlreichen Künstlern und Performern zusammen. Ihre Arbeit wurde bereits international gezeigt, unter anderem im PS1/MoMA, der Tate Modern, dem New Museum, und dem Museo Reina Sofía, und ist in Sammlungen des Brooklyn Museum of Art, der Marieluise Hessel Collection and des Museum of Modern Art vertreten.

In recognition that we, a self-determined species labelled homo sapien, have developed and perpetuate systems of mass destruction on an illogical scale, A.L. Steiner presents We Made This Disaster Together with Deborah Schamoni Gallery. Pleased at the invitation to present her finest notion of gesamtkunstwerk in München, the gallery invites all citizens of this shining city to Steiner's offering. Knowing that only some will show up, this precarious cultural producer asks both the legitimate and illegitimate, productive and unproductive, mature and immature members of society to come visit this space in hopes of enlightenment and affect. Because this show is a gamble, and thus the artist's 'success' is precarious, there is one simple condition of seeing this EXCITIING and AROUSING exhibition – the requirement of an entry offering. This offering is decided at the discretion of the viewer, so please make sure to bring something you can part with. Anything. Bring your schmuck, your currency, your trash, your treasures, a delicioulsy fresh cake and/or other edibles, etc. and we'll be happy to show you the works, which include a suite of original never-before-seen photographs! Intimidating high-quality sculptures! Groundbreaking artistically-determined sociosexual material!  Thank you for your consideration, and we very much look forward to seeing you at the gallery and sharing creativity together. A.L. Steiner utilizes constructions of photography, video, installation, collage, collaboration, performance, writing, teaching and curatorial work as seductive tropes channeled through the sensibility of a skeptical queer eco-feminist androgyne. She's a collective member of Chicks on Speed, co-curator of the project known as Ridykeulous, co-founder/organizer of Working Artists and the Greater Economy (W.A.G.E.) and collaborates with numerous visual and performing artists. Her work has been featured internationally in such venues as PS1/MoMA, Tate Modern, The New Museum and Reina Sofia, and resides in permanent collections such as The Brooklyn Museum of Art, Marieluise Hessel Collection and The Museum of Modern Art.
