The exhibition of artists from Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia presented at CCA is part of the TransCaucasus Festival, an international and multidisciplinary project. TransCaucasus 2009 will be the fourth edition of the festival promoting contemporary Caucasus culture. In addition to open-air events, concerts, and a film review in Warsaw's Kinoteka movie theater, there will be two contemporary art exhibitions, one at Ujazdowski Castle, the other at Kordegard Gallery in Warsaw. The idea of the project at the CCA is to present independent works of particular artists who are processing their own cultures in their unique or everyday varieties. The artists face history, membership in a given world, and changes that may interfere with their thinking about themselves and their identity.

Armenia. In 1988, an earthquake flattened Giumri, Armenia's second-largest city. In the face of the calamity, Soviet authorities initiated construction to foster resettlement. Construction began a year later, but was never finished due to dissolution of the Soviet Union, money shortages, and conflicting political goals. A series of works by Vahram Aghasyan entitled Ghost city references these events by showing half-finished ruins of a future that never materialized.

Azerbaijan. La Vie en Rouge is a project based on the selection of pieces wholly or partially dominated by the color red. This evokes ideological themes, from the revolutionary to the materialistic, such as the latest model of a Porsche. A collection of red objects allows for investigation of the power of this color and its effect on viewers confronted with the vision of reality presented by artists from Azerbaijan.

Georgia. Structural Changes are the works of 13 artists that show the multiplicity of views on the results of change. The changes shown are fragmentary and symbolic or even sketchy. They sometimes approach the absurd, or touch on numerous planes of their existence; they are surprising for their diminutive or grandiose scale.
