press release

We are pleased to announce that Künstlerhaus Bethanien is moving to new premises.

As from June 2010, you will find our enlarged gallery spaces, more artists studios and our offices in Künstlerhaus Bethanien's new building at Kottbusser Straße 10 (access exhibitions) / Kohlfurter Straße 41-43 (access studios and offices), D-10999 Berlin.

The simple but elegant commercial building in the district of Kreuzberg was acquired by Nicolas Berggruen Holdings in 2008, and accepted as an ideal new location for the Künstlerhaus following a creative concept for re-use. The long-term perspective is to develop the building with a total area of 10,000 m2 into a creative commercial centre, which will house a mix of creative culture, internationalism and imaginative experiment and so generate a stimulating influence on its surroundings.

Such promising prospects call for celebration: from 7 pm on 11th June 2010 we will celebrate theRELAUNCH of Künstlerhaus Bethanien in suitable style, in the presence of the Governing Mayor of Berlin, of Nicolas Berggruen, representatives of our international partners, and more guests of honour.

The event will also include the OPENING of a first series of exhibitions in the new spaces, namely thesolo exhibitions

Patrick Bernatchez – Die Zeit Verschlingt Tine Oksbjerg – We will meet again but don't know when Robert Quint – If you want it to be right...
