Entering its fourth decade of collecting, the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery is pleased to present Am I scared, Boy (EH): Collection works from then and now showcasing the scope of the Gallery's impressive contemporary art holdings.

Curated by Gallery director Rhana Devenport this exhibition aims to represent the history of contemporary New Zealand art as written by the Gallery, which continues to maintain its reputation as the "The swingiest art gallery of the Antipodes" (Len Lye).

Highlights of the exhibition include John Reynolds Office of the Dead, Takashi Kuribayashi Washstand, Colin McCahon’s Am I Scared and Otago Landscape, Tony Fomison Blind Maori, Yvonne Todd Female Study (Gold) and Rohan Wealleans Disciple of the Pearl.
