press release

This exhibition presents 60 emblematic works from the SFMOMA and the Fisher collection (one of the world’s largest private modern and contemporary art collections, now curated by the museum).

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), founded in 1935, is the first museum on the West Coast dedicated solely to modern and contemporary art. Since 2013, the museum has been closed for extensions and has decided to send its fantastic collection of artworks on tour. In France, the south-west gallery of the Grand Palais will host the greatest 20th-century American artists: Andy Warhol, Alexander Calder, Roy Lichtenstein, Ellsworth Kelly, Agnes Martin, Richard Diebenkorn, Chuck Close and many more.

An exhibition organised by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Réunion des musées nationaux - Grand Palais and musée Granet. To be presented at the Musée Granet, Aix-en-Provence from 11 July to 18 October 2015.
