28th International Contemporary Art Fair

This latest edition of Artesantander 2019 will continue its line of "Solo Projects" developed in previous fairs, consolidating it as a fair with a distinctive profile. Through this profile the fair aims to showcase contemporary art and also harness the activity surrounding the Contemporary Art Collection and Patronage course, organised once again by the Asociación de Coleccionistas 9915 (9915 The Association of Contemporary Art Private Collectors) and Instituto de Arte Contemporáneo (Institute of Contemporary Art). This course which is included in the 2019 Programme of the International University of Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), will take place during the month of July in the Palacio de la Magdalena de Santander, headquarters of the International University.

NOVELTIES OF THIS EDITION
The fair welcomes back part of its Selection Committee: In addition to two members from the previous edition, Beatriz Espejo (art critic. Art History graduate from the University of Barcelona and Master in Art Criticism and Communication from the University of Gerona. Since January 2017 she is responsible for Babelia, the art section of `El País´ newspaper) and Susana Blas (curator and contemporary art historian, specialized in audiovisual creation); joining the panel is Rafael Ortiz (director of the Art Gallery with the same name. His career features a wide participation in international fairs), Fer Francés (gallery owner and contemporary art curator) and Óscar Alonso Molina (art critic and independent exhibition curator). Five diverse perspectives to contemplate a varied selection.

Each gallery can present A SINGLE PROJECT to be judged by the selection committee. New image of the fair, created by designer María José Arce.
