APT 2006 — first exhibition at new Queensland Gallery of Modern Art

APT 2006, the fifth in the Triennial series, is scheduled to open in November 2006 as the opening exhibition at the new Queensland Gallery of Modern Art.

APT 2006 will present a focused exploration of the work of 30–35 artists from Asia, Australia and the Pacific. It will feature a performance program and, for the first time, a curated cinema program. The popular Kids’ APT for young audiences will again be presented, and will include a children’s festival.

APT is distinguished from other international arts events by its collecting focus. The Gallery has embarked on a major acquisitions program to secure works for APT 2006.
