Bleiben oder gehen / Ostati ili otiçi / Staying or leaving

"Bleiben oder gehen" bringt acht künstlerische Projekte für die Dauer dieser Ausstellung in einen temporären Zusammenhang: Für die in der Ausstellung vertretenen KünstlerInnen sind der Blick auf Möglichkeiten und Entwürfe gesellschaftlichen Zusammenlebens, auf Konzepte und Utopien von Zugehörigkeit, auf Erfahrungen von Entwurzelung und Gefährdung, sowie deren politisch oder ökonomisch motivierte Bedingungen zentrales Thema ihrer Arbeit und konkreter Ausgangspunkt ihrer Projekte. Sie bilden Prozesse ab, in denen Lebensraum - privater oder gemeinschaftlicher, permanenter oder zeitweiliger - verhandelt wird, und nehmen Bezug auf sehr spezifische geografische, historische und soziale Situationen, und lassen sich auch als strategische Navigation durch kulturelle Landschaften begreifen.

"Staying or leaving" puts eight artistic projects into a temporary context within the framework for the duration of the exhibition: for the artists featured at the exhibition, the key theme of their work and point of departure for their projects is to explore possibilities and drafts of social coexistence, concepts and utopias o f belonging, experiences of uprooting and endangerment, and their politically or economically motivated conditions. They describe processes in which living space - private or communal, permanent or temporary - is negotiated, and they refer to very specific geographical, historical and social situations and may be seen as strategic navigation through cultural landscapes.
