Borderlines presents contemporary artworks with a strong existential strain. Among the issues treated is death, art, metaphysical questions, the absurd, social issues, the ridiculous or a combination of these factors.

The main body of the exhibition consists of international works of art in various media on loan from the National Museum of Art, Oslo. It includes works by more than 20 artists.

The exhibition is produced by Bergen Art Museum in collaboration with Sørlandet Art Museum and Rogaland Art Museum.
