Bring the Boys Back Home
June 15 — September 11, 2020

With its title derived from a song included in the album, The Wall (1979) by Pink Floyd, the exhibition brings together a selection of works by Bruno Pacheco, David Claerbout, Frank Nitsche, Gil Heitor Cortesão, Luca Francesconi, Paloma Varga Weisz and Vítor Pomar.

Organized in the wake and as a result of the ongoing pandemic, the exhibition, (like the song), reflects on the notions of non-possibility and of not letting, a direct result of social confinement and socio-economical paralyzes we are living in today. Addressing through its vocabulary subjects such as time, space, the imaginary, or the domestic, the exhibition touches upon elements, which have been subject to change through the course of that past months. Bringing into play the subject of the spiritual and the utopian, as an opposition and an opportunity to reinvent existing structures, Bring the Boys Back Home is a consequence and silent commentary on the multitude of the pandemic’s impact and the way it has affected all parts of life.
