Carsten Nicolai is known for his artworks and his music. Together with neighbouring art house ‘Vooruit’, S.M.A.K. will present both aspects of his work. Together with Olaf Bender and Frank Bretschneider he owns the leading label ‘Rasternorton’. Carsten Nicolai is born in Germany in 1965, he was initially an apprentice gardener, then a landscape architect. He began his carrier as an artist in 1986 in Leipzig. He has been making electronic museum for years, using the pseudonym ‘Noto’. At S.M.A.K. he will show a number of installation-works.
