Cecily Brown

Cecily Brown (London, 1969) is one of the emerging artists who, from the late nineties, has been renewing the vocabulary of painting. Clearly revealing the influence of Willem de Kooning or Francis Bacon, her work is sited between abstraction and imagination creating a tension between the formal aspects of the painting and the intimacy of the artist, often translated in scenes charged with eroticism.
