Contemporary Istanbul 2013

Contemporary Istanbul will take place 7-10 November at ıstanbul Congress Center (ICC) and Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICEC). The leading international art fair in Turkey brings both local and international focus to the dynamic art scene in Turkey's vibrant metropolis every November. The 8th Edition will feature 96 galleries from 21 countries with outstanding works by more than 748 artists.

A fresh and exciting addition to the fair is Plugin Istanbul New Media Section, which will be dedicated to showcasing video art and new media in the adjacent 1.000 square meters area in the Istanbul Congress Center

New Horizons, a section of Contemporary Istanbul which offers an annual focus of contemporary art from a selected geographic region will this year put a spotlight on Russia.

CI Dialogues, the fair's talk programme will this year be themed around new technologies, new media and art tying into the first year of Plug In.

Hermann Nitsch, one of the founders of Vienna Actionism will exhibit his 66th Painting Performance, "Malakt" in Contemporary Istanbul.

DIYALOG: Art from Vienna will showcase works by leading contemporary artists living in Vienna sponsored by OMV Group, the newly special project sponsor of Contemporary Istanbul.
