Daniel Buren - Le décor et son double


Le décor et son double, a work by the well-known French artist Daniel Buren, has a specific link with the history of the S.M.A.K. as a museum. For the Chambres d’Amis exhibition in 1986 Buren created a copy of the bedroom of the art collector Anton Herbert, decorated with his own renowned striped motif. This work was recently acquired by the museum and is now being put on display again for the first time.
