David Casini: Espax

T293 is pleased to announce the solo show of David Casini. The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first is an installation piece designed specifically for the exhibition space in Piazza Amendola 4. The entire space is transformed by the light streaming through a large ceiling opening detailed with decoration similar to the baroque aesthetic. The second section of the show, consisting entirely of new drawings and sculptures, will be held at the gallery at Via Tribunali 293. A distinguishing characteristic of David Casini’s art is the way in which he approaches the practice of manufacture, with particular regard to investigation of materials. He has made in his art a move from the bi-dimensional surface of his earlier works to the three-dimensional. At first, he created miniatured landscapes made of ceramic and quartz surrounded by a certain kind of nostalgic kitsch feeling. More recently, he is developing an interest in spatial/environmental installations.
