press release

T293, based in Naples, is pleased to announce the opening of its new venue in Rome on Monday 17 September 2012. Located in a celebrated, vibrant, rich in history area, T293 Rome intends to relaunch in order to actively inscribe itself into the established yet constantly growing contemporary art galleries scene in the city. Redesigned in collaboration with Italian design firm RestartMilano the space expresses great character and personality.

The venue debuts with an exhibition by David Maljković (Zagreb, 1973). T293's first collaboration with the Croatian artist dates back to 2005 and the exhibition A Long Day for the Form celebrates his return featuring works from part of his current engagement with architecture and modes of display.

A Long Day for the Form focuses on David Maljković´s conceptual practice of restaging and re-presenting existing objects or displays that has already been thoroughly explored in shows at Sprueth Magers, Berlin, Kunsthalle, Basel, Sculpture Centre, New York and Secession, Vienna. Enigmatic traces, missing artworks and small interventions such as sound and light reveal themselves to the viewer from other contexts and contents.
